Blessed by God to be a Blessing to Others

Music Ministry

Over my head, I hear music in the air,
Over my head, I hear music in the air,
Over my head, I hear music in the air,
There must be a GOD somewhere.

The rich heritage of music has been recorded for us from ancient times. Both voices and instruments were used to express the full range of human emotions. Even the brief glimpses we have of what takes place in the heavenly courts often includes a description of the music there.

"The history of the songs of the Bible is full of suggestions as to the uses and benefits of music and song. Music is often perverted to serve purposes of evil, and it thus becomes one of the most alluring agencies of temptation. But, rightly employed, it is a precious gift of God, designed to uplift the thoughts to high and noble themes, to inspire and elevate the soul...(Excerpted from Responsibilities in the Local Church. Editor, Monte Sahlin)

It's a long-known fact that listening to music can soothe your soul, but recent studies have shown that it can also heal your physical body, from depression to arthritis and loss of sleep to stress.

The history of music in relation to human beings predates the written word and is tied to the development and unique expression of various human cultures. Music has influenced man, and vice versa,

Over my head, I hear music in the air,
Over my head, I hear music in the air,
Over my head, I hear music in the air,
There must be a GOD somewhere.
